    Placenta Medicine Calgary

    Birth Changes You.

There is a moment after birth that few people speak about. Your baby has arrived. The room begins to quiet. And beside you rests the remarkable organ that sustained life for months — your placenta.

    Sacred Heart Placenta Medicine

“For forty weeks it nourished. Nourishes • Protects • Sustains • Connects • Remembers.”

It was your baby's first companion and your body's extraordinary partner in creating life. From the very first spark of conception, the placenta begins to form — not as something separate, but as part of the shared consciousness of mother and baby.

Birth connects us to our ancestors, to the earth, to the great web of life. When we honour the placenta, we honour that mystery. Through traditionally prepared placenta medicine, I am in awe to support families carry this sacred transition into the postpartum season with intention, beauty, and exceptional care.

    Honouring Traditions

    Birth's Oldest Companion

Placenta Medicine offers a beautiful bridge between two life seasons. It is the beginning, as well as an ending, in your story.

The way your placenta is received. The way of kinship with the ones that care for it. The way the sacred is tended.

In many Indigenous teachings, the placenta is understood as part of the soul — carrying the life map of a person's journey. When the placenta is planted in the earth, Mother Earth receives the message: This soul has arrived.

“Your placenta carries your innate wisdom, blueprint and signature — a meaningful part of both your birth and your baby's story, honoured and preserved with reverence.”

    Why Families Choose Placenta Medicine

Families choose placenta medicine for many reasons — personal tradition, postpartum intention, and the desire to honour and preserve their placenta. Capsules are made from your own placenta, infused with supportive postpartum plants, dehydrated, ground and encapsulated for easy dosage. Some clients report feeling more resourced, supported and connected during postpartum; individual experiences vary.

Placenta medicine does not replace medical care.

    Step by Step Care

What It Feels Like To Work Together

Most families book during pregnancy to ensure availability around their estimated due date.

    01

    Before Birth

Together we'll prepare with a consultation call well before your due date to answer questions and options available so you feel calm, informed, and confident when labour begins.

    02

    During Birth

Whether your baby arrives at home, Arbour Birth Center, or hospital, you simply reach out. I'll guide the next steps with clarity and calm, allowing you to stay focused on welcoming your baby.

    03

    After Birth

Your placenta is respectfully prepared with exceptional care and returned prior to day 4 with thoughtful care during one of life's most tender seasons.

Continued availability afterwards for any questions or concerns that arise as you settle into postpartum.

    20+ Years Kinship with Placentas

A Blessing to you with love...

May this birth be remembered not only for the moment your baby arrived, but for the care that surrounded you both. May you enter postpartum feeling nourished, witnessed, and deeply held.

Traditional Womb Care & Medicine Maker

    Meet Treeka

Founder of The ForRest. For Womb Care and Women's fires.

For more than two decades, I have walked alongside women through some of life's most significant thresholds — as a herbalist, traditional womb care practitioner, doula, and medicine maker.

Since 2006, I have personally prepared more than 200 placentas. I bring the attention of a craftswoman and the experience of a birthworker to each preparation, with an understanding that behind every placenta is a woman, a birth story, and a new season of life. This is personal work, and one of the parts of my practice I love most.

    A Story of Remembering

It was 2006 when my first placenta found me. As soon as I felt this one in my hands, I knew something else was orchestrating and knew the way. This was remembering of what lives in my bones. Since then, I have been in a loving kinship with placentas for two decades.

I allow them to lead; they know the right time (most love the wee hours in the morning to be made into medicine), the right plants, the songs... Placentas hold consciousness, memory, and spirit.

“My work has always been rooted in one simple belief: Relationship is medicine.”

Food-safe handling • Professional standards • Deep reverent tradition
    Trusted Placenta Care Since 2006

Since 2006, Treeka has cared for more than 200 placentas through food-safe handling, traditional preparation and handcrafted medicine — aiming to have it returned before day four whenever possible.

The Honourable Womb Closing is a traditional, relationship-centred ceremony that gently honours the completion of one chapter and welcomes the beginning of another. It is an invitation to pause, to be witnessed, to gather the pieces of yourself with tenderness, and step forward feeling more whole.

    • Reduces swelling, bruising, afterpains — great for internal healing
    • Supports nervous system recovery from shock
    • Safe during breastfeeding

    Peri-Healing Spray

    • Supportive to the nervous system
    • Calming effects, heart support

A formula may include calendula for its traditional kinship with tender tissue, yarrow for toning and gathering, rose for softness and the heart, or mugwort and rosemary when warmth and movement are called for. The plants are not simply ingredients added to hot water; each carries its own qualities, history and way of accompanying the postpartum body, and medicine. Together, they create an aromatic warmth that invites a woman to sit, receive and return her attention to herself.

    • Brings warmth and circulation back to the pelvis
    • Tones and gathers tender tissue
